ISC is the largest forum in Europe for HPC, high performance data analytics and AI/machine learning. This annual event brings together the international HPC community, providers and users from industry, public institutions and research organisations.
Around 30 R&I projects funded by the JU will be presented on the stand:
- EXCELLERAT2, Centre of Excellence (CoE)
- CEEC CoE
- MultiXscale CoE
- HIDALGO 2 CoE
- MaX CoE
- Plasma-PEPSC CoE
- Space CoE
- BioExcel CoE
- ESiWACE 3
The stand will also be the opportunity for the JU to showcase its supercomputers.
A special highlight will be given on the stand to MeluXina, the EuroHPC supercomputer located in Luxembourg thanks to the presence of representatives and to JUPITER, the first European Exascale supercomputer under way and to be installed on the campus of in Germany. Representatives of the (JSC) who will operate the system will be also present on the stand.
At booth B201, EuroHPC JU will have a presentation corner for EuroHPC projects and partners to showcase their activities and outcomes. Find here below the schedule for projects' presentation:
On Tuesday, May 23 at 16:15, EuroHPC JU Executive Director, Anders Dam Jensen, will be speaking at the "Leading the Way in European Supercomputing: User's opportunities and latest updates from the EuroHPC JU". (HALL Z- 3rd Floor)
In this occasion, the Executive Director will present the JU and how this initiative is pooling the resources of the European Union, 33 European countries and 3 private partners to develop a World Class Supercomputing Ecosystem in Europe.
By giving an overview on the operational EuroHPC supercomputers located across Europe, the Executive Director will also offer details about their access policy. Free access is already being provided to European researchers and wider access is planned for the future.
To close his remarks, the Executive Director Jensen, will touch upon some of the JU’s upcoming activities, such as the acquisition of new supercomputers including exascale systems and quantum computers and the implementation of an ambitious research and innovation programme to support European technological and digital autonomy, develop green technologies in HPC, and further strengthen Europe’s leading position in HPC applications.
His presentation will be followed by a presentation of Pekka Manninen, Director of Science and Technology at Advanced Computing Facility, CSC, presenting the EuroHPC supercomputer . LUMI, located in Kajaani, Finland, is currently the fastest supercomputer in Europe and in general one of the most powerful and advanced computing systems in the world. In this talk, Pekka will present the technical architecture of the LUMI infrastructure and its status, together with plans and ambitions for the near future. Then, the main theme of the talk will be an overview of the scientific showcases and achievements from the first months of LUMI. These include, for example, contributions to Destination Earth initiative, work on large language models and breakthroughs from extreme-scale computing capabilities in many fields of computational science.
The purpose of the workshop it to present the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking, its activities and opportunities. Speakers from the EuroHPC JU and from projects funded by the JU will share practical tips and feedbacks about accessing EuroHPC supercomputers for free and how to get support to access such top of the range resources.
