The project aims to develop an advanced foundation model for high-resolution geospatial analysis, with a specific focus on imagery from European regions.

It addresses gaps in existing foundation models that not only lack such localized data but were also not primarily designed for high-resolution imagery.

Leveraging the CARTOGRAPHER platform, the project focuses on critical tasks such as segmentation, vectorization, and generative capabilities for geospatial applications, including urban planning and geographic analysis. By utilizing EuroHPC resources, it employs cutting-edge methodologies, including Vision Transformers (ViT) and Masked Autoencoders (MAE), to address challenges like labeled data scarcity and scalability across regions.

This transformative innovation will enhance the CARTOGRAPHER platform's capabilities, providing efficient, ethical, and scalable AI-driven solutions for automated geospatial data analysis.
