To support AI research and deployment, existing on-campus facilities will be extended in the PIAST-AI Factory project with high-end GPUs optimized for heavy AI workloads, generative AI, AI-cloud-HPC integration, and AI-quantum simulations. Existing facilities at PSNC, Poznan University of Technology, Adam Mickiewicz University, and Nicolaus Copernicus University will be utilized to promote AI ecosystem development, particularly among young users and entrepreneurs. Additionally, PSNC FutureLabs and PSNC AerospaceLab will provide living labs and co-working spaces for AI-driven hackathons, workshops, and innovation projects. The Space Robot Testing Centre in Kąkolewo will serve as a dedicated AI testing ground for robotics and aerospace research. AI researchers will benefit from data-sharing agreements with medical and scientific institutions, enabling GDPR-compliant AI model training. The PIAST-AI Factory also facilitates real-time AI-driven policy-making in public sector governance and climate resilience strategies.

Based on collected experience, the following key industrial sectors in Poland have been identified in the PIAST-AI ecosystem: healthcare and life sciences, IT & cybersecurity, space & robotics, sustainability (energy, agriculture, climate change), and the public sector. These sectors will benefit from AI-optimized supercomputing resources, federated cloud-based AI platforms, specialized AI services, and domain-specific AI programming environments, along with access to large-scale datasets and repositories. SMEs and start-ups will be supported with dedicated resources for AI model development, training programs, and secure data handling. By leveraging EuroHPC and the national funding models, investment risks will be minimized while maximizing technological potential at lower costs. The PIAST-AI Factory aims to bridge the gap between research and industry, ensuring that AI solutions are not only developed, but also implemented at scale to drive economic and technological progress.
