Description
The current tender aims to establish a terabit-capable hyperconnectivity network for High-Performance Computing (HPC) in Europe following a Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) model.
Hyperconnectivity refers to an ultra-high-speed, highly interconnected network and service infrastructure designed to support advanced scientific research and industrial applications.
Key features of hyperconnectivity in the context of EuroHPC include:
- Ultra-high bandwidth, with transmission rates in the order of terabits per second, enabling the transfer of massive amounts of data between HPC systems and research facilities within Europe and beyond.
- Pan-European coverage, connecting multiple European countries, linking national and multinational HPC systems across the continent.
- Integration of technologies providing the internetworking framework to facilitate access to HPC, artificial intelligence (AI), and quantum computing resources, creating a unified ecosystem for advanced computing.
- Flexible architecture and adaptable services, allowing for different types of experimentation and the incorporation of new technologies as they emerge.
- Tailormade services and architectures to meet the unique demands of scientific research and HPC applications.
