AI Factories are dynamic ecosystems that will build around AI-optimised supercomputers, offering computing resources and support services to the European industry, as well as to the European scientific users for the development of large AI models to take advantage of AI technology capabilities in the European Union, and for the development of skills and knowledge in the domain of AI.
AI factories can be accessed by eligible public and private users and can apply for access for innovation purposes. Different eligible criteria applies for applications for industrial innovation and for scientific research.
Other industrial applications can benefit from pay-per-use commercial access. Users from academia, research institutes, public authorities and industry, established in a Member State, or in a third country associated to Horizon 2020, the Digital Europe Programme or to Horizon Europe can apply for access.

Playground access mode: there are no cut-off dates applied. This is a continuously open call with assessments done on a rolling basis.
Fast Lane access mode: there are no cut-off dates applied. This is a continuously open call with assessments done on a rolling basis.
Large Scale access mode: there are 2 cut-off dates per month. This is a continuously open call with evaluations performed after each cut-off date
Applicants established or located in an EU Member State, a Participating State or a Horizon 2020-associated third country, are eligible for the Union’s share of access time to EuroHPC supercomputers acquired before 2020. Eligible countries include: Albania, Armenia, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Faroe Islands, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Moldova, Montenegro, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Tunisia, Türkiye, Ukraine, United Kingdom.
Interested entities will need to apply for access in the context of one of EuroHPC call for system access. The applications are subject to review based on specific conditions set by each call.

Access time offered via the EUROHPC JU access calls is free of charge.
Participation conditions depend on the specific access call. In general users of the AI Factories commit to:
- acknowledge the use of the resources in their related publications
- contribute to dissemination events
- produce and submit a report after completion of a resource allocation.
