Services provided

  • The entry point to the services of the BSC AI Factories will be through the team of account managers. This team will be specifically trained to identify AI-based opportunities in start-up companies, SMEs and public sector. This team will guide prospective users through the on-boarding process (eligibility and maturity check) and then direct them to the set of services best tailored to their needs.

    • Basic Guidance
    • AI-Optimised HPC Access
    • Technical Support
    • Data and Software Access
    • Training Programmes
    •  Networking  Factory Hub

  • In the Discovery Phase, prospective users are identified and engaged through targeted outreach and communication activities from the AI Factory. The goal is to attract and inform potential users about the services available.

Following this, in the Engagement Phase, these prospects are assessed and transitioned into registered users, each assigned an access level appropriate to their status and compliant with established access policies, ensuring secure and streamlined onboarding. Once users are registered, they enter the Service Allocation and Utilization Phase, where they are assigned the resources they need—whether computational or otherwise—based on their readiness and specific requirements (as discussed later in this section).

Finally, there is a Feedback Phase, which plays a crucial role in the AI Factory’s quality assurance processes. Here, users provide feedback on their experiences and the quality of services. These insights are invaluable for iterating and refining the service offerings to better meet user needs.

The new MareNostrum5 AI partitions will incorporate the most recent AI-oriented computing architectures, specially designed for Artificial Intelligence workflows like LLM training and inference. The final configuration of the MareNostrum5 AI upgrade will balance the existing technologies based on the nature and volume of computing activities expected, striving for an optimal use of the computing resources. The Factory will be based on a set of core services and a number of additional support mechanisms that, combined, will boost the European AI innovation ecosystem in the participating countries and open to the whole EuroHPC participating states. The set of core services will include access to AI-optimised HPC resources, Data Space, Software Library and Advanced User Support. The additional support mechanisms will include a tailored Training Programme, setting up of start-up accelerators including incubators and co-working spaces, link with Sectorial Hubs and National HPC and Competences networks, organisation of hackatons and an annual BSC AI Factory event.
